I am a Romanian artist and illustrator based in Bucharest. I have illustrated and published a substantial body of work in picture books, and alongside book illustration I also create personal works on recycled cardboard, from images and characters only a few centimetres in size to figures reaching seven metres in height. In both, I am drawn to texture, pattern, rhythm, and colour, and to building images where softness and strength can exist together. My work often moves between delicacy, strangeness, and a quiet emotional tension. Over the years, it has received international recognition, including the Grand Award at the Golden Pinwheel in Shanghai, a Purple Island Award at the Nami Concours, and selection for the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition. I have been a member of Asociația Clubul Ilustratorilor for nearly twenty years. At the time of its founding, the Club played an important role in the Romanian children’s book industry, helping illustration gain greater visibility.
